How Can a Bump On The Scalp Be Treated?

I recently had a spot on the side of my under my hair. I treated it with Sudocrem, Savlon & Tea Tree Oil. It s been a week and there s a bumpy, soft to touch area that is slightly reddened in its place. I was also told today that I have lost a patch of hair in the same location. Could this be related and what could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

this is likely to be a carbuncle, especially if it is raised and tender. That is infection of the hair follicle.

Though there are other possibilities, the best thing to do is to see your doctor who would see and tell you, as it is very difficult to say about skin problems for sure without looking on to it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
